Dr Onyinye Akunne has a PhD in pharmaceutical sciences from the University of the Western Cape’s School of Pharmacy in South Africa. She graduated with a BSc in Biochemistry and a MSc in Pharmacology and Therapeutics.
She is very passionate about Rational Medicine Use, and her research focuses on the efficacy and effectiveness of medicines in special populations using innovative techniques. Dr Akunne is a postdoctoral research fellow at the University of the Western Cape School of Public Health under the Pharmaceutical Public Health group, where she evaluates rational medicine use and drug utilization.
She facilitates the WHO/DDD methodology workshop for the West African College of Pharmacists and the Quantitative Data Analysis Methodology Workshop for Cape Peninsula University. She has published in highly-rated peer-reviewed journals and continues to share her work at International, Regional, and National conferences. She is a fellow of the Organization of Women in Science for the Developing Countries (OWSD) and a member of the International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology and Drug Safety (ISPE).
Dr Oluwarotimi Williams Samuel obtained a PhD in Pattern Recognition and Intelligent Systems from the University of Chinese Academy of Sciences with excellent dissertation honors and graduate awards. Also, Dr Samuel received his Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Computer Science with first-class honors and distinction, respectively. He is a Senior Lecturer and Lead Investigator at the School of Computing, University of Derby, United Kingdom.
He conducts cutting-edge scientific research, investigating core factors limiting Cyber-physical Systems practical deployment, and develops novel AI-based Data-driven solutions to resolve such. He published 100+ articles in reputable Journals/Conference proceedings with “Top Cited Papers”, “IEEE Best Paper Awards”, “Top 2% Scientists Globally”, “IEEE-YITP Research Visit Award”, “Outstanding Teacher Award”, and “STEM for Britain Award, Nominee”, etc. His commitment to promoting Science, Technology, and Innovation engineered his appointment as Associate Editor of Frontiers in Big Data, Advisory Board Member of the ELSP International Open Science Platform, Chair, Technical Program Committee Member of various International Conferences, Senior Member of IEEE and he acted as a distinguished speaker at United Nations (UN) events.
Dr Oluchi Mbamalu is a Research Pharmacist in Cape Town, South Africa. She has undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in pharmacy/pharmaceutical sciences, with experience across pharmaceutical research, academia, and practice. Oluchi is passionate about learning and appreciates opportunities to engage with students and early career researchers for two-way learning initiatives. Her experience across diverse yet related pharmacy sectors has allowed her to learn and mentor in academic, healthcare and community settings. Her current research interests explore barriers to diagnostic uptake to address antimicrobial resistance (AMR), Pharmacist's roles in stewardship and infection care, and drug shortage's effect on AMR. She is the lead investigator on a project funded by the National Research Foundation to explore options for patient engagement in infection care.
Ms Onyedika Akunne is a seasoned tax professional with over seven years of experience in Tax Management and Advisory services. She is well-versed in Nigerian tax laws and has in-depth knowledge of tax planning, audit, and compliance matters. She holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Kogi State University and an Advanced Diploma in Applied Accounting from the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), UK.
She commenced her career as a research analyst in Synergon Infrastructure in 2014, after which she proceeded to work in Kreston Pedabo in 2017, where her career started as a consultant. She provides tax audit support, advisory and compliance services. Onyedika has amassed a wealth of experience consulting for agencies of the Federal Government, as well as multinational entities in various sectors of the economy.
Professor Joseph Fadare is a Professor in the Department of Pharmacology, Therapeutics and Medicine at the Ekiti State University’s College of Medicine in Nigeria.
He is also a Consultant Physician/Clinical Pharmacologist at the Ekiti State University Teaching Hospital.
Prof Fadare has an MD degree from the Varna Medical University, Bulgaria. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine (sub-specialty of Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics) at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, obtaining the Fellowship of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria (FMCP) in 2006. He holds a joint Master’s degree in Bioethics - Erasmus Mundus Master of Bioethics (specialization Medical Ethics) from the Katholieke University (KU), Leuven, Belgium, Radboud University, Nijmegen, the Netherlands and University of Padova, Italy. He is a Fellow of the Nigerian Academy of Medicine. He is a member of several professional societies such as the Bioethics Society of Nigeria, Nigerian Society for Clinical Pharmacology and Therapeutics, South African Society for Basic and Clinical Pharmacology, British Pharmacological Society, International Society for Pharmacoepidemiology, American College of Clinical Pharmacology, American Society for Microbiology, British Society for Antimicrobial Chemotherapy.
He has presented many papers at national and international conferences.
Professor Fadare has held several positions of responsibility at Ekiti State University, including Head of the Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics, Sub-Dean, and later Dean of the Faculty of Basic Clinical Sciences.
Professor Aduragbenro Adedapo is a Professor of Pharmacology and Therapeutics at the University of Ibadan’s Department of Pharmacology and Therapeutics in Nigeria. She is a Consultant in the University College Hospital’s Department of Pharmacology, Nigeria. She obtained her M.B., B.S., and M.Sc. in Epidemiology and Medical Statistics from the University of Ibadan. She is a West African College of Physicians Fellow and a member of the Nigeria Medical and Dental Council and the Nigerian Medical Association. Prof. Adedapo has held various administrative positions, including Consultant in charge, Head of the Internal Medicine department, Vice-chair of the Academic committee at the Adeoyo State Hospital, Ibadan, Acting head and later Head of the Department of the Clinical Pharmacology Division at the University College Hospital, Ibadan, Nigeria. She is a Public Health doctoral student at the Morgan State University in Maryland, USA. She has published articles in highly-recognized peer-reviewed journals and has presented her research at reputable conferences.
Mr Shadrach Eze obtained a Bachelor of Pharmacy from the University of Nigeria Nsukka. He is passionate about research in drug design, discovery and development to tackle chronic diseases and cancers. He is also committed to advancing rational medicine use to curb rising antimicrobial resistance and reduce adverse drug reactions and events. His recent work has focused on pushing the frontiers of Adverse drug reporting practices among healthcare professionals while promoting interprofessional collaborations. He has published in reputable journals and presented at international conferences.
Ms Amilomo Ichoku obtained her LLB undergrad degree from the University of the Western Cape in 2016. She began her career as a sales executive at Foreshore Waters Ltd in Nigeria in 2018 after a one-year stint as a legal assistant at the Nigerian Ministry of Justice. Since leaving Foreshore Waters Ltd, she works as a consultant. Amilomo is passionate about communication, sales and marketing. She is committed to upscaling businesses and has years of experience as a sales executive and a business development specialist.
